Sleep - Part 3
Dear Friend,
I am excited to see more and more people using sleep devices and learning about their sleep. The technology is very useful, however we often see people not fully appreciating their data.
Devices:
Wearables (Oura, Whoop, Apple Watch)
Temperature control (Eightsleep, Chilipad, Bedjet, Slumber cloud)
Most wearables report similar data: Resting HR, Heart rate variability (HRV), duration of sleep stages, and a proprietary calculated sleep score. While the data is not as accurate as polysomnography (sleep study), they do provide consistent measurements.
The key to utilizing the wearables is in tracking measurable changes based on a lifestyle change.
Temperature control is a relatively new industry and continues to advance. The earlier products had issues with noise, comfort, and efficacy. More recent products have added features like dual zone control.
Eightsleep has been our favorite of the temperature options, which also tracks sleep data through the detection of micro movements. We have seen temperature control to have improvements specifically on HRV.
Next time, we will discuss the various supplement options.
At BodyTimeMD, we closely monitor our clients’ sleep and take an active role in solving their individualized sleep issues. Hope this provides some insight, let’s talk if you are interested in finding out more about your body.

Three to a bed used to be the norm until Kaya became a teenager.
