The road less travelled

Life plan 2.0 - Part 1

Dear Friend,

This past Valentine’s Day, Crizen and I are celebrated our 21 year engagement anniversary (and in May, we’ll make 20 years of marriage!). Looking back, you could say we took a road less traveled.

Like many, I grew up thinking there was a clear, predictable path to life:

Traditional Model:

  • College

  • Work - Save for house, retirement

  • Married, Kids

  • Retire

  • Enjoy your savings

But here’s the reality of our journey.

The Mike and Crizen Road:

  • College

  • Work - Save for House, retirement

  • Chaos….Multiple career changes, stopped saving, invested in ourselves, lived life for maximum fulfillment

What does this have to do with health?

At BodyTimeMD, our goal isn’t just lifespan—it’s healthspan. The difference?

Maximum Healthspan = High quality life for as long as possible.

What it takes to achieve Healthspan:

  • Time and Resources to Invest in Health (Mental & Physical)

  • Continued Purpose (Personal & Professional)

  • A Strong, Supportive Community

The Benefits of Healthspan:

  • More years to contribute (even switch careers later in life)

  • More time to build financial freedom and legacy

  • More time to invest in relationships—even the ones that require deep work

Fast forward to today: We’re grateful for the journey, fulfilled in the present, and excited for what’s ahead.

Next time we will dive deeper into how we plan to maximize healthspan—for ourselves and this community.

At BodyTimeMD, we not only look at health but the broad impacts on life itself. Let’s talk if you are interested in finding out more about your body.

Kaya playing at ACC with our friends. She got to play the course before Crizen and myself, proud but maybe a little bit jealous. We got Nina and Kenzo to also be interested (not hate) in golf, so hoping we’ve added another hobby to the Hasegawa toolkit we can all enjoy together throughout life.

Thanks,

Mike
