Your Mind Wants More
Neurodegenerative Prevention
Dear Friend,
The growth phase of BodyTime has me spending most of my time meeting people in the community — people who share our philosophy on health and want to explore ways we can collaborate.
What’s interesting is that these conversations often start with health but rarely end there. More often than not, they drift into entrepreneurship — the challenges, the risk, the reward, and the lessons learned.
Last weekend, I caught up with friends on a golf trip in Toronto. A mixed group: physicians, entrepreneurs, some just starting new roles, others stepping away from old ones and figuring out what’s next.
And that became the common theme: What’s next?
The Mind Needs Purpose
When we talk about health span, it’s easy to focus on the physical — exercise, nutrition, sleep. But the mind needs just as much training as the body.
It needs purpose. It needs challenge.
A Generational Shift
This isn’t just a personal observation. A 2025 business report laid it out:
Gen X now owns 49% of U.S. small businesses.
Baby Boomers hold 30%.
Millennials at 21%.
Starting something new is scary at any age. But in our 40-50s, the stakes feel higher. We’re balancing school-aged kids, aging parents, and everything in between.
The flip side? We’re better equipped. We’ve put in the reps. We’ve built expertise. We’ve lived enough to know what actually matters. And when we build, we get to build it our way.
For me, that means building something that lasts beyond me — but doing it in a way that elevates everyone involved. My ideal future looks like a four-hour workday where I give my absolute best for those four hours. The other four? They’re for me: working on my health, grabbing lunch with friends, exploring new opportunities.
Those hours might look like work, but they don’t feel like work because the lines between work and life have blurred in the best way.
Listening to the Signal
Whether you’ve been at the same company for 25 years or built your own empire, there will come a point when your mind whispers that it wants something different.
Don’t ignore it. Don’t fear it.
That whisper is your subconscious telling you the next move. Something amazing usually follows — if you’re willing to listen.
Share this with someone you know — someone restless in their role or someone itching to take the leap into something “crazy.”
Because here’s the thing: You can’t fool the mind.

4 years running, my team has yet to win but we’ll keep grinding. A lot to be grateful when able to travel and rip 6 rounds of golf with friends.
Thanks,
Mike
